Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee 'Weissensee läuft' / courtesy Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee

For the Berlin Fashion Week the innovative Berlin-Weißensee College of the Arts (Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißenseee) presents student fashion projects as part of the Showroom-Mile under the title "Weissensee läuft" ("Weissensee walking") at Palazzo Italia. In addition to the two fashion shows on Friday, a temporary showroom featuring an exclusive exhibition of the young designers' collections, fashion photography, and illustrations are open on Saturday.

Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, founded in 1946, offers an art-oriented, interdisciplinary foundation year and open student studios to its very small, handpicked classes. Intensive, personal mentoring motivates creative thinking, pushing traditional boundaries of art and design, and thus promoting interesting, independent and agile design personalities, encouraging team-playing and visions in new areas of fashion design. Berlin is on its way to become the new fashion capital as many young designers choose to establish themselves here ... quite a few of them are alumni from Weißensee!
